Colour Frenzy is touring Australia raising much needed funds for local Animal Rescue Services in each location they visit. Visiting Bonython Park this Sunday the 7th of March the Colour Frenzy team were bright, colourful and chearful throughout the whole day and brought tonnes of energy to all of the participants. Today's event was disability friendly with many of our special needs community coming out and having a blast.
A well stocked merchandise stand and a plethora of local vendor greeted patrons as they arrived. From temporary tattoos to candles, natural ice-cream and shakes to a good old Aussie sausage sizzle.
After check in the day really started with some dad jokes for the MC as well as some stretches and a round of dancing the Macarena. Prizes went out to the worst dad jokes and the most enthusiastic dancers. People and pooches started in waves and it didn't take long to hit the first colour station getting bombarded by the helpful volunteers. 5 colour stations in all being pink, blue, purple, yellow and green as well as inflatable obstacles and a massive foam trench that we almost lost a few of our smaller participants in :).
Once people had finished their first lap of the course their once white t-shirts were dyed a myriad of colors with some remnant foam to top it all off. A few personal items were lost in the foam trench with some additional goodies being offered to any child who could find them under all of that foam. Do you need an extra excuse to play in a massive foam pile?
The day was capped off with medals being presented to all of the participants (I managed to even score one myself). Wrapping up the day and washing down the environmentally friendly colour powder and foam left no trace of our time there and zero environmental impact to Bonython Park.
